The Nicholas Brothers were world-renowned tap dancers in the African-American Performance Circuit for more than twenty year . Fayard (right) and his brother Harold (left), were the most innovative and animated dancers of their time. They began performing as early as the 1930’s and mad their Cotton Club premiere in 1932. They were the only African American act allowed t mingle with the patron in the club.

Fayard is the oldest of the deceased duo. His brother Harold passed away in 2000, and Fayard just four years later in 2004. The brothers have been in over 20 movies and have dance with old Hollywood starlets such as Lena Horne and Dorothy Dandridge.  Harold and Dorothy engaged in a brief marriage  in 1942.

Married three times Fayard remained married to his last wife Katherine Hopkins until his death.
