Baltimore Ravens Wide Receiver Torrey Smith, his wife Chanel and a host of other athletes, comedians and residents have banned together to help Desmond, a 13-year-old quadriplegic from Baltimore, win a mobility van in order to get around daily. The van will be awarded to the entrant with the most votes as part of an online contest for National Mobility Awareness Month.
In 2012 a severe asthma attack put the young boy in a coma for a week and that changed his life forever. Desmond’s mom, Tawanna Taylor, lifts her 108 pound son daily and only leaves the home for doctor’s appointments.
