Congrats Reverend Johnny N. Golden, Sr., Pastor.

In May 2003, Pastor Johnny N. Golden, Sr., led New Unity Church Ministries (formerly New Unity Baptist) from an isolated East Baltimore community to downtown historic Mt. Vernon’s Central Business District.

For the past 8 years he has led the Wednesday Noonday Outreach Ministry. Community persons from all walks of life come and receive an inspiring word and a full meal prepared with love. The highlight and joy of this ministry is our Annual Thanksgiving “Feast of Love” Dinner where we serve a hot home cooked meal to well over 300 persons in the community. He also sphere heads our Annual “Angel Tree” Christmas drive, distributing gifts to children of incarcerated parents. Fully committed to church and community, his main focus is CONNECTION! He teaches that life is all about relationships…a relationship with God and people.

The epitome of “selfless dedication”, he stresses the importance of education!! His work with local youth includes an Annual “Baccalaureate Ceremony of Excellence” where each participant in the academic arena is celebrated. Throughout the year, he encourages them to excel and subscribes to the “no excuses” policy. He boldly takes people to next level living as he holds educational sessions of all types.

He established ‘The Equipping Ministry’, where his weekly teachings Empowers God’s People to Do Greater Works! A visionary and spiritual father to many, he can be found on the frontline of many causes to better serve and protect our seniors, youth and the disenfranchised. Interested in the welfare of all people, he often says “If I can help somebody, then my living won’t be in vain. There’s no greater joy than to love and to serve”.

We are proud of a church history of 95 years, and her Pastor and Bishop, a ‘brilliant beacon’ in the community for over 17 years!

Congrats Pastor Timothy McLaurin, Jr., leader of Forest Park Community Church.

Formerly Forest Park Presbyterian Church, this 100+ year old organization was struggling to find direction. When Pastor McLaurin was led into this West Baltimore church, he was faced with the struggle that many Pastors are faced with today: The proper way to grow. He accepted the challenge of walking the fine line of how to make worship appealing to the youth, and inspire growth in the congregation, while showing the proper respect to the elder members of the congregation. With a mostly older and “set in their ways” congregation, his job hasn’t been easy, but he has managed to get the job done.

In less than three years, he has led FPCC to make major change, without losing focus. There has been structural change that has included a remodeled sanctuary, and the installation of much needed air conditioning, and an elevator. Procedural change has included expanding the Gospel Music Ministry, and the Youth Ministry, which has led to growth in attendance. And true to the “community” moniker, there has been a philosophical change to be more inclusive. In years past, this congregation has not taken advantage of the fact that it’s in a neighborhood that has quite a few houses of worship. However, under the leadership of Pastor McLaurin, FPCC has reached out, and seen the collective power of the Lord, when working together with the other neighboring churches.

In his short time as the leader of this congregation, Pastor Timothy McLaurin has both enriched and enhanced the legacy of this church, but also shined a light to give a glimpse of the brightened path that lies ahead for Forest Park Community Church.

He is married to the former Ms. Kimberly Rollins and they have three beautiful daughters Aaliyah Kimberly, Ariel Timia and Asyah Simone McLaurin.
Pastor McLaurin has a passion for global missions and evangelism, and for healing hurting people. He is passionate about God’s commission to make disciples, God’s command to love the Lord with all his heart, mind and soul and his neighbor as himself and God’s charge to equip and empower the people of God to do God’s work and God’s will.
He is a preacher, teacher, conference speaker, workshop facilitator, and revivalist who is ready, willing and able to serve in any capacity and any place that the Lord calls.

Yolanda Adams Morning Show Madea’s Big Happy Family Sweepstakes (“Sweepstakes”) will begin on April 11, 2011 and end on April 22, 2011 (“Sweepstakes Period”).  This Sweepstakes will be conducted through various radio and online networks and one (1) grand prize will be awarded to one (1) winner.  The grand prize is a Fun Family Getaway (a long weekend for a family of four (4)) to:  Walt Disney World® in Orlando, Florida, or Disneyland® in Anaheim, California.

HOW TO ENTER:

1. In the event of a dispute regarding the identity of a participant’s online entry, the entry will be deemed to have been made by the authorized holder of the e-mail account at the time the entry was made.

ELIGIBILITY RESTRICTIONS:

1.    The Sweepstakes is open to listeners of the YAMS who are eighteen (18) years of age and older at the time of Sweepstakes entry and are legal residents of the U.S. (except Rhode Island).

2.    Employees of The Yolanda Adams Morning Show, the Participating Stations, Syndication One, Radio One, Inc. (“Radio One”), TV One, LLC, Interactive One, LLC, REACH Media Inc, Lionsgate, (collectively, “Sponsor”), Dial Global Communications, and each of their respective parents, subsidiaries, affiliated companies, promotion partners, sponsors and advertising and promotional agencies (together with Sponsor, collectively, the “Sweepstakes Entities”) and their immediate family members (spouse, parent, child, sibling and their respective spouses, regardless of where they reside) and those living in their same households (whether or not related) are NOT eligible to participate or win in this Sweepstakes.

3.    Once an individual wins a prize in this Sweepstakes, they are not eligible to win another prize in this Sweepstakes except as specified within these rules.

4.    Persons who have won a prize in another Sweepstakes or promotion of any kind from the YAMS within the thirty-day (30) period immediately preceding the start date of this Sweepstakes are not eligible to participate.

PRIZES:

1.    Grand Prize for one (1) winner (and three (3) guests of winner’s choosing) to include a Fun Family Getaway (a long weekend for a family of four (4) to: Walt Disney World® in Orlando, Florida, or Disneyland® in Anaheim, California (location to be determined by Sponsor).  Prize also includes:

• round trip coach airfare for four (4) from a metropolitan airport nearest the winner’s residence within the continental U.S.
• hotel accommodations for three (3) nights; one (1) standard hotel room; occupancy for four (4)
• round trip ground transportation between airport and hotel
• passes for chosen park
• meals at chosen park

The estimated retail value of the vacation package is $10,000.  Actual value will vary depending on winner’s point of departure and airfare fluctuations.  If the actual value of the prize is less than the stated approximate retail value, the difference will not be awarded in cash.  If for any reason a portion or whole prize cannot be awarded, the Sweepstakes Entities reserve the right to award a prize of equal or greater value.

Additional ground transportation, meals outside of the park, beverages, hotel room service, laundry service, local and long distance telephone calls, merchandise, souvenirs, incidentals, tips, gratuities, service charges or taxes, ground transportation between winner’s residence and the departure airport, luggage costs, and all other charges and items not otherwise described above are the responsibility of the winner and his or her guests.

Prize trip must be completed within six (6) months of being awarded or winner forfeits the prize package.  Travel dates and lodging are subject to availability, and certain restrictions and blackout dates may apply.

2.    No substitution of prize is offered, no transfer of prize to a third party is permitted and non-cash prizes may not be redeemed for cash value, except as determined by station management and/or the sponsor in its sole discretion.

3.    All Sweepstakes winners must sign and date official station release and waiver forms as requested. All forms must be returned within thirty (30) days of issue, failure to do so will result in winner forfeiting the prize.

4.    If for any reason a Sweepstakes winner provides notice that he or she has decided not to accept an awarded prize, the winner will be required to sign a release form acknowledging that they are forfeiting the prize. Changes of venue, cancellation of engagements by performing artists, and/or their management may be permanent in nature. The Sweepstakes Entities are not obligated to make any effort to find an alternative prize under these circumstances.

6.    If a winner does not claim their prize within three (3) days of winning notification, the prize will be forfeited.

7.    Sweepstakes Winners must provide valid identification (i.e. via driver’s license, passport or other photo I.D.) to claim their prize.

EXECUTION:

3.    The grand prize winner will be notified by a representative of Syndication One and/or Sponsor via phone and provided with instructions for claiming their prize.

In addition, The Yolanda Adams Morning Show, the participating stations, Sponsor, Dial Global Communications, participating sponsors and their respective parent companies, subsidiaries, affiliates or their representatives, agents and employees are not responsible for lost, misdirected, mutilated, illegible or incomplete Sweepstakes entries. Once submitted, entries become the property of the station and will not be returned.

11.     By accepting the prize, the winner acknowledges that The Yolanda Adams Morning Show, the Participating Stations, Sponsor, and Dial Global Communications have neither made, nor are in any manner responsible or liable for, any warranty, representation or guarantee, express or implied, in fact or in law, relative to the prize or to any portion thereof, including but not limited to its quality, mechanical condition or fitness for a particular purpose.

12.     The Yolanda Adams Morning Show, the Participating Stations, Sponsor, Dial Global Communications, their respective subsidiaries, affiliates, participating sponsors and promotional partners will not assume any responsibility for any changes in the execution of the Sweepstakes, including; cancellation of the Sweepstakes as a result of the occurrence of events not within the control of The Yolanda Adams Morning Show, the Participating Stations, Sponsor, Dial Global Communications, their respective subsidiaries, affiliates, participating sponsors, promotional partners and other radio stations, such as acts of God, strikes, terrorists acts or criminal acts of third parties.

13.     The Yolanda Adams Morning Show, the Participating Stations, Sponsors, and Dial Global Communications are not responsible for any incorrect or inaccurate entry information, whether caused by any of the equipment associated with or utilized in the Sweepstakes, and assume no responsibility for error omission, interruption, defect, failure, malfunction or delay in operation or transmission, or for any damage to participants phone, cell phone, mobile device, computer, hardware, software, or any other device, or for theft or destruction, tampering or unauthorized access to entry information, or for entries which are misdirected, inaccurate, incomplete or, inaudible, disconnected or any combination thereof) or for preemption or cancellation of the radio program, or for technical, network, typographical, human or other errors or problems relating to or in connection with the Sweepstakes, including, without limitation, errors or problems which may occur in the connection with the administration of the Sweepstakes, the announcement of prizes in any Sweepstakes-related materials.
