College Republican Says Shooting Obama Is “Tempting”

AUSTIN — The president of the College Republicans at the University of Texas at Austin Lauren Pierce, tweeted that shooting Obama was tempting, but discouraged her followers from shooting him.

The tweet came hours after a man was arrested for shooting at the White House.

Y’all as tempting as it may be, don’t shoot Obama. We need him to go down in history as the WORST president we’ve EVER had! #2012.”

GOP Rep. Blasts Bill Banning Unemployment Discrimination

Texas Rep. Louie Gohmert recently criticized a new proposal for a bill that would prohibit employers from discriminating against the jobless.

Gohmert said on Tuesday, “We’re adding in this bill a new protected class called ‘unemployed. I think this will help trial lawyers who are not having enough work. We heard from our friends across the aisle, 14 million people out of work — that’s 14 million new clients.”

Spectators cheered the prospect of letting uninsured Americans die during Monday’s CNN Tea Party debate.

Washington– Rep. Steve King, a Republican from Iowa, referred to President Obama as “very, very urban,” while charging that as a senator he gave special favor to African American farmers who were victims of government discrimination. GOP gubernatorial candidate Rick Scott on Thursday morning announced that state Rep. Jennifer Carroll of Jacksonville will be his running mate as lieutenant governor.
