A second person charged in a South Texas Ponzi scheme is heading to prison for bilking ex-NFL player T.J. Slaughter and other investors.
A judge in San Antonio on Tuesday sentenced Mary Alice Monteza to 10 years in prison as she claimed she’s still trying to repay $850,000.
Monteza and Alan Keith Nelsen in January pleaded no contest to theft charges related to a fake international investing firm.
