While many independent labels fail to stay afloat in a ever changing industry, Baltimore-based gospel label, remains on the billboard charts. Habakkuk Music, founded by April Washington, has six gospel artist on their roster, 12 Billboard hits ranging from 2008-2012, and a distribution deal with Universal Music.
April Washington is a not a newcomer to the industry, but has worked for Mowtown, RCA, Capital Records and WEA Distribution all before venturing into the gospel realm. She founded Habakkuk Music in 2008 with flagship artist, Lisa Paige Brooks.
Today, April Washington, is taking her label across the country on 8-city promotional tour stating in Chattanooga, TN on August 9, entitled “Got Gospel”. Read full story to find out what else Habakkuk music is doing.
