More than 100 people held a rally on Sunday night in Ferguson, Mo., for Darren Wilson, the police officer who shot and killed Michael Brown multiple times on August 9th, KDSK reports.

Organized through a “Support Darren Wilson” Facebook page, attendees reportedly signed posters backing the officer. Some attendees also held signs saying, “Support our police! Pray for peace.”

To further support their cause, organizers passed around a bucket collecting donations for Wilson and his family and made T-shirts honoring the officer. On the Facebook page, the group’s description reads:

“We stand behind Officer Darren Wilson and his family during this trying time in their lives. All proceeds will be sent directly to Darren Wilson and his family for any financial needs they may have including legal fees.  All proceeds will be sent directly to Darren Wilson and his family for any financial needs they may have including legal fees.”

But the event didn’t go without incident. A small group of counter protestors formed across the street from the group.

Interestingly enough, the majority-White group seems to be taking a page from the Trayvon Martin protests with one of their more recent social media posts:

“Good morning supporters! Yesterday was pivotal in strengthening support for Officer Darren Wilson. Our local communities, state, country, and world now know that Darren has a voice. We are Darren’s voice. WE ARE DARREN WILSON!”

Wilson has remained in hiding since shooting Brown two Saturdays ago, due to death threats. He also remains on paid administrative leave, pending further investigation.
