UNIFYING LESSON PRINCIPLE:

Irresponsible rebellion pervades our world. Why is disregard for rules, which are necessary for ordered life, so pervasive? Although God created a perfect place for Adam and Eve, their unwillingness to trust and obey God led to the Fall, making humanity prone to disobedience.

 CONCLUDING REFLECTION:

The major theological theme of this narrative encompasses the Lord’s response to the disobedience of Adam and Eve. At first, the Lord interrogated the participants to obtain a confession. Then, He declared the new conditions of life in view of the presence of evil, conflict, pain, and death. Finally, He provided clothing for the humans and kept them away from the Tree of Life. Sin has its consequences, but God is a loving God who wills to redeem His created order.

PRAYER: Eternal God, we confess to You that we are weak, finite, fallible creatures of the moment. We ask Your forgiveness for our sins, and we pray that You would strengthen us with Your tender-loving mercy and compassion. In Jesus’ name we pray. Amen
