CPR may have saved the 11-year-old’s life according to the Joppa Magnolia Volunteer Fire Co.

By the time the child arrived at the Upper Chesapeake Medical Center in Bel Air, his heart was beating again, officials said. The hospital stabilized the child and called for an emergency helicopter transfer to the Johns Hopkins Children’s Center in Baltimore.

He’s still at the Johns Hopkins Children’s Center. It’s unclear what cause him to become unconscious in the pool in the first place.
