The lyrics are bold from the start:

Dem waan nail mi up pon the cross like Jesus (Dem mussi mad)

Dem a plan gainst mi life, but God nuh lef us (Yuh mussi mad)

Di lightning and thunder

Jah send mi protection from his Holy Mountain, lightning and thunder (Break dem asunder, man)

– Holy Mountain

Just about halfway through the album, John Legend and the late Nipsey Hussle enter on a track about overcoming adversities called “Higher” where John belts, “But don’t you know that the devil is a liar?  They’d rather see me down, put my soul in the fire. But we keep goin’ higher, higher.

You can check out tracks like “Won’t Take My Soul” and “Holy Ground” for more spiritual innuendos.

In an interview on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, Khaled talked about “Holy Ground” saying “Anywhere I put my feet, it’s the holy ground. So, the album is real personal and real special for me. This is my 11th album, so it’s not just an album. It’s the next chapter of more blessings, more love.”
