UNIFYING LESSON PRINCIPLE:

All personal relationships encounter problems that result in division and strife. Who can heal the breaches and restore harmony? Mark describes how Jesus’ crucifixion forges a new covenant and reconciles God and humankind.

CONCLUDING REFLECTION:

Jesus came that we might have the “full” life. He served as the mediator between a holy God and sinful humanity. The sacrificial act of atonement made possible the restoration of the damaged relationship. When we confess our sins, God is faithful to forgive us and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness and we can receive the gift of the new covenant. Once we enter God’s rest, we can then daily live out our faith in practical ways and share God’s love with others in our world of influence.

PRAYER:

Lord, thank you for your unselfish sacrifice on the cross of Calvary. Let us give of ourselves to others as you have laid down your life for us.   In Jesus’ name we pray. Amen
