A Baltimore city police officer accidentally shot a teen in the leg while attempting to shoot a pit bull that was attacking a group of teenagers. The officer was on normal patrol on Fenwick Avenue when he noticed a dog attacking a 14-year-old boy. The officer then aimed for the dog and the boy received a single bullet in the leg. An investigation is underway to determine whether the boy was hit from a ricocheting bullet or from a through-and through from the dog.

The boy was taken to Johns Hopkins Hospital and is in stable condition. The dog was killed. No one else was injured.
