Did you tune into the World Cup this weekend? Soccer in South Africa is like the Super Bowl to the U.S. If you had the chance to tune in then you may have noticed a seemingly annoying soundtrack of horns being played by the fans. Unfortunately they were sounded throughout the entire game. I was only able to watch for a few minutes because a major headache came over me. I wonder why? Well the horn is called a vuvuzela and World Cup officials are considering banning the horn-like instruments because it is distracting to the players and annoying to viewers. When they measured the level of the noise, officials found it to be comparable to the noise of a major jet plane engine. Wow! Well I won’t be tuning in until they get rid of those things.
