One suspect has been arrested and Chicago police believe they know who the second suspect is in last week’s fatal shooting of an 8-year-old South Side girl.

Prosecutors said the suspect in custody, Steshawn Brisco, said he “didn’t care” that the victim, Tanaja Stokes, was jumping rope in front of her Roseland neighborhood home, when the shooting began.

Stokes’ cousin was also wounded in the shooting.

Police say the second suspect is a juvenile, so they can’t publicly identify him, but they say he is well-known in the community.
