Thousands of area kids flooded North Avenue to take part in the City’s Back 2 School Rally. Many of the vendors did not make it out to the event, probably a result of the earthquake that rocked the city less than an hour before the event kicked off, but the kids were clearly not concerned about the quake. Kids received backpacks filled with school supplies donated by area sponsors including Wal-mart, Edy’s ice cream, The Diamond Plan and Maryland’s Physicians Care.
Local music artists including Mario, Lil Mo and Caddy Da Don were scheduled to make appearances at the event but due to the quake many of the activities were canceled.
