As of 8 a.m. Friday, portions of Charles Street, Lexington Street, Gay Street and Saratoga Street in downtown Baltimore were closed in preparation for the Veteran’s Day parade, which begins at 9 a.m.

The following streets were closed: Charles Street from Fayette to Monument streets, Lexington Street from Charles to Frederick streets, Gay Street from Fayette Street to the Fallsway, and Saratoga Street from Gay to Holliday streets. They are expected to reopen once the parade ends.

Parking is restricted from 6 a.m. to noon Friday in these locations: Charles Street from Lexington to Madison streets, Lexington Street form Charles to Saratoga streets, Gay Street from Fayette Street to the Fallsway, and Saratoga Street from Gay to Holliday streets.

An accident was slowing traffic on I-95 southbound, near Route 198.

The Maryland Transit Administration is warning patrons that there is no MARC service and no commuter bus service Friday in the Baltimore area, due to the Veteran’s Day holiday. The subway, light rail lines, mobility vans and local buses are operating on their regular schedules.
