There has been an ongoing fight to raise the minimum wage to $15 by 2022, but Mayor Pugh has vetoed the bill. During a press conference today, the Mayor of Baltimore said that “think it’s important that we follow the lead of the state.”

This comes just days after City Council voted 11-3 in favor of the minimum wage bill.

Pugh made it clear that she doesn’t want Baltimore to be the “hole in the doughnut,” with the surrounding counties and will move forward with the state.
