Joining us in today’s Motivational Moment, is Reverend Ron Harrison. He shares the importance of calling out sin, in ourselves and others. He reminds us that the purpose of correction and discipline is not embarrassment or humiliation, but rather to bring about repentance and restoration. The scripture base for this is 2 Timothy 2: 24-26 (New Living Translation):

“A servant of the Lord must not quarrel but must be kind to everyone, be able to teach, and be patient with difficult people. Gently instruct those who oppose the truth. Perhaps God will change those people’s hearts, and they will learn the truth. Then they will come to their senses and escape from the devil’s trap. For they have been held captive by him to do whatever he wants.”

But in order for God to be able to use us, we must be empty, clean and available. If we are defiled of our sin and our hearts hardened by disobedience, then we are worthless to the work of the Kingdom. Paul says that we cannot simply ignore sin. We must oppose it, expose it and refute it. If you see something, say something. Call out sin!
