Searchers recovered the flight data recorder of the Air India plane crash in southern India. The recorder was visibly damaged by fire but should be able to yield pertinent information to assist in determining the cause of the crash.
Only 128 of the 158 bodies found at the crash site have been identified and returned to the families. Amazingly eight of the 166 people on board the Air India Flight IX-812 survived the wreck and were transported to nearby hospitals. Local villagers are being praised by officials for their swift action to aid victims immediately after the disaster.
